“Memories of our lives, of our works and our deeds will continue in others”

Civil right icon Rosa Parks has died at the age of 92.

By refusing to give up her seat on a bus to a white man in 1955, Parks inspired a generation of black people to stand up and refuse to accept their crappy treatment anymore. But she also inspired white people. And Asian people, and Native people. She showed everyone that they have they ability to stand up (or in this case, remain seated) and fight for what they think is right. And she showed us that no protest is too small to make a difference.

The quote in the title of this entry belongs to Rosa Parks, BTW.
