the delusions of a beauty queen

Just when you thought it was safe to read a newspaper again, Carrie Prejean has returned. Seriously, aren’t we on her 17th minute of fame already?

The reason for her return to the spotlight is that Prejean is suing the Miss California USA organization for religious discrimination. If you’re done laughing, you can read the quote below.

Prejean just filed the suit in L.A. County Superior Court, accusing Moakler and pageant honcho Keith Lewis of religious discrimination, defamation, public disclosure of private facts, intentional infliction of emotional distress, and negligent infliction of emotional distress.

Prejean was dethroned/fired from her post as Miss California USA back on June 10, nearly two months after she spoke out against gay marriage at the April 19th Miss USA competition.

Prejean claims the Miss Cali people “conspired to get rid of her” beginning on April 21st — when she said on the “Today” show that she would rather be “biblically correct than politically correct.”

Reps for Miss California USA have previously explained that Carrie was fired for missing appearances she was supposed to make for the organization and for not getting clearance to do extracurricular activities.

So, to clarify, you can get hired for a job and sign a contract saying that you will perform certain duties and then you can completely slack off and do whatever the hell you want and repeatedly tell your boss to go fuck him- or herself. Yes, you will probably get fired, but after that you can sue for religious discrimination, defamation, public disclosure of private facts, intentional infliction of emotional distress, and negligent infliction of emotional distress. I wish I had known about this loophole before! I’d be on my third or fourth lawsuit by now!!

In all seriousness — she signed a contract and based on what was released to the press at the time of her firing the Miss California organization had ample proof that she was reneging on her contract. Hell, they would make sure that they had that proof if for no other reason than everyone saw this coming a mile away. She may have won the pageant, but she was still required to do a job and she didn’t do it so she lost her job. Welcome to the real world, princess.
