a horrible way to end things

Can you think of anything more horrible than to die by electrocution? Poor thing

A wayward raccoon was behind a power outage that hit several Halifax neighbourhoods Thursday, shutting down businesses and several schools.

Nova Scotia Power said the animal chewed through cables at its Dunbrack substation Wednesday night, shorting the system.

“The raccoon got between the transformer and the high voltage, and when that happens it’s a big flash and does a lot of damage,” said Dave Kelly, an NSP supervisor.

Nearly 10,000 people in Clayton Park, Fairview and Rockingham were left in the dark.

[…]The raccoon didn’t make it.

Yes, I’m upset about the raccoon. He didn’t know any better. He was just trying to get something to eat. Poor, poor thing.
