say this one five times fast

Tomorrow, we’ll celebrate the holiday of Lughnasadh — the first harvest of the year. By celebrating this holiday, we commemorate the sacrifice and death of the God. Of course, he’ll be back in December and he’s dying to nurture us, but it’s still a sad occassion. For this particular holiday, corn takes the form of the God, and it is common to mark the holiday by baking a figure of the God in cornbread, then symbolically sacrificing and eating it. With corn syrup, or course.

As per usual, if you want to learn more, then I have some links for you. You could go here, or here, or here, or even here.

Now, you guys go learn (or not learn, depending on what you choose), and I’m going to go clean my house and make some cornbread.
