do it now before it’s too late!

Is there a rash of flag burning that is going on in the United States right now? I mean, I haven’t heard anything on the news, but it must be a pretty popular weekend activity if the government is so determined to ban it. Maybe it’s just so commonplace that no one pays attention to it anymore. Yah, that must be it.

To burn a flag in protest is a right that should be protected for all American citizens under the first amendment. You know — the one that says that you have the right to express yourself in any way that is not harmful to someone else. Flag burning may be seen by some as desecration, but I’ve never heard of anyone being physically hurt by it. By banning the burning of the flag, the U.S. government is doing more to take away the rights of its citizens than it is protecting them. Of course, that’s just part of a trend that has been ongoing since January 2001. Why should it stop now?
